Notepad2 is an excellent open source software alternative for the so basic Microsoft Notepad which can't display correctly all text files (because of end of lines).
Notepad2 can also be used as a simple code editor. It supports syntax highlighting (XML, CSS, Javascript, VB, VB script, C/C++, C#, rc, Java, Pascal, Asm, SQL, Perl, Python, ini, PowerShell, batch, diff) and essential features for a code editor like tab settings, end of line, encoding and more.
Just install Notepad2 with iwod and your old Notepad will be replaced. If you decide to remove Notepad2, the traditional Notepad will be backed-up and everything will be as it were before.
