CDex is an open source (GPL2) Digital Audio CD extractor. You can extract audio data to compressed format like MP3 and OGG but also to plain WAV files. CDex supports these encoders:
- Lame MP3 encoder
- Internal MP2 encoder
- APE lossles audio format
- Ogg Vorbis encoder
- The Windows MP3 encoder (Fraunhofer MP3 encoder)
- NTT VQF encoder
- FAAC encoder
- Windows WMA8 encoder
The first to do when using CDex is to configure the Remote CDDB. Press F4 to display the configuration dialog then on the Remote CDDB tab enter your e-mail in the "Your e-mail address" field.
To extract one of your original audio CD follow these steps:- insert the CD in the drive
- click "CDDB -- Read Remote CDDB" in the menu to fill track titles
- press F9
- wait a few minutes
